# SC-06 Resource Availability

NIST SP 800-53 control. Family: SC System and Communications Protection. Function: preventative. In no baseline. Mapping licence: CC BY-SA 4.0.

Statement: Protect the availability of resources by allocating [Assignment: organization-defined resources] by [Selection (one or more): priority; quota; [Assignment: organization-defined controls]].
Guidance: Priority protection prevents lower-priority processes from delaying or interfering with the system that services higher-priority processes. Quotas prevent users or processes from obtaining more than predetermined amounts of resources.

## Patterns that use it (3)

OSA's mapping for iso_27001_2022 and nist_csf_2 takes NIST's published crosswalk as its base. A clause not marked as OSA's own is in that crosswalk.
